This is Sabrina Wilkerson’s 5th year as the volunteer chair hosting “HAT”titude along with a phenomenal committee of Community Place employees, board members & friends.

“HAT”titude is a fundraiser for Community Place/Threshold. Sabrina is a past board member of Community Place but due to work responsibilities she could not continue in that capacity so she created this “fun” fundraiser.

Programs include but are not limited to GED job readiness programs, prevention services, youth employment and early childhood services.

This year Sabrina wanted to focus on the youth, with all the challenges they face daily in school and in their personal lives. We all know the challenges our city school district is facing particularly with the graduation rate. She reached out to a young man at the agency and a few other phenomenal young men to ask them their thoughts. She asked for suggestions on who they would like to see as a speaker. Sabrina already had Dr. Perry in mind but wanted to remain open to their ideas and include them in the process. She received numerous names of sports figures & musicians. She asked them if they knew who Dr. Perry was the majority did not. The students were then asked to visit his website and read about him. After receiving their feedback Sabrina knew Dr. Steve Perry was the right choice. This has been a learning experience for the youth already.

Please join Sabrina, Community Place and Rochester’s Youth in welcoming Dr. Steve Perry to the 5th Annual “HAT”titude. If you need more information feel free to check out the
